Setting up Sub-Domains

Adding a sub-domain

NB: This tutorial requires you to already have set up a domain on the system.

  1. Enter your customer area (click here);
  2. Click on "dns" in the menu;
  3. Click manage (the spanner) next to the domain you wish to edit;
  4. Click on "add new CNAME record";
  5. Under "CNAME Hostname" enter the new subdomain you wish to add 1;
  6. In the second box, enter your domain & append a "." (without the quotes) to the end of it - nb: don't add "www." to the beginning;
  7. Add;

You're all set!
Please remember it may take a few minutes for the servers to update themselves with your new settings.

Footnotes:

1

The only punctuation you can have in domains (inc. sub-domains) are hyphens ("-") & decimals ("."). However it is often seen as bad practice to add punctuation to sub-domains.
