RAM upgrades can be done quickly, simply requiring a reboot of your VPS, once we have updated your account.
The quickest way to upgrade your HDD capacity, requiring only a reboot, is for us to simply add another disk to your system. You can then format & partition it to suit your needs.
If your purposes require, an existing partition can be extended onto the second disk with the use of LVM, which is installed by default on most VPS.
To get the ball rolling, contact support with your username, the product you would like upgrading & to which level you would like it upgrading to.
If demand on your VPS has dropped & you would like to scale down, then it is possible to downgrade, however full downgrades including HDD downsizing aren't as easy.
As with RAM upgrades, downgrades require only a quick reboot after your account has been updated.
Unfortunately, just as you can't alter the block size of a real hard-drive, the same restrictions apply to virtual hard-drives.
If you have previously upgraded your VPS & had a second hard-drive added to your VPS, then you just need to remove your data from the disk & we can take it off your system.
If your VPS consists of only a single drive, any downgrades you wish to make to the hard-drive would require a complete reinstall of your system. If you are happy with this, we will allocate you a fresh VPS & allow you a period with which to migrate from your old system.
To go ahead or query any of these changes, contact support with your username, the product you would like updating & to what specifications.
